Summer Mentoring Program Student Awards

Each summer, the UCI Ethics Center honors outstanding student participants in our Summer Internship & Mentoring Program through three prestigious awards. These awards recognize exceptional contributions by students and teaching assistants (TAs) based on their engagement, initiative, and performance throughout the program. There is no application process for these awards; all nominations are made by faculty mentors who work closely with students in each module.

The Easton Award for Excellence in Mentorship

The Easton Award is presented to outstanding Teaching Assistants (TAs) who demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and mentorship throughout the program. Recipients go above and beyond in supporting their module instructors, facilitating discussions, and guiding their peers. This award reflects our deep appreciation for the vital role TAs play in enriching the student experience and fostering a collaborative, intellectually rigorous environment.

The Rosten and Lampros Awards for Outstanding Student Achievement

The Rosten and Lampros Awards recognize students who exemplify academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and meaningful engagement in their summer modules. Selected by mentors, these students stand out for their high-quality research, thoughtful contributions, collaboration with peers, and consistent commitment to the values of ethical inquiry and social responsibility. Each module may nominate students for these awards based on their overall performance and participation.

Together, these awards celebrate the excellence, integrity, and leadership that define the UCI Ethics Center Summer Mentoring Program.
